Why is the word "get" important? It is the 7th most common verb in English. You need to get using it.

為什么“get”這個(gè)詞這么重要呢？它是英語(yǔ)中最常見(jiàn)的動(dòng)詞的第七名。你會(huì)經(jīng)常需要使用它。

The first use of the word "get" is to arrive somewhere.

Get這個(gè)詞的第一個(gè)用法是到達(dá)某個(gè)地方。

It took me 5 hours to get from the airport to the hotel.

從機(jī)場(chǎng)到旅館花了我5個(gè)小時(shí)。

The second meaning is to obtain.

第二個(gè)意思是獲得。

I got a wonderful present for my birthday. I got a car.

But what's interesting is you can get it for someone or you can get it from someone, so it's very useful this verb "get".

How can you lose yourself?

No, you didn't lose yourself. I think what you wanted to say was "Sorry I'm late. I got lost." 

不，你并沒(méi)有丟你自己。我覺(jué)得你想說(shuō)的是“對(duì)不起我遲到了，我迷路了。”

Or, my students come and they say "Ah! You cut your hair." I cut my hair? No, I didn't cut my hair. Oh! I got my hair cut.

或者，我的學(xué)生會(huì)過(guò)來(lái)跟我說(shuō)“啊！你剪了你的頭發(fā)。”我剪了我的頭發(fā)？不，我可沒(méi)剪我的頭發(fā)。哦，我去理發(fā)了。

This is perfect we're using "get" a lot now. You need to be using the word "get". It's really important, it's really common. We use it all the time, very often for to go, to arrive, very often for to obtain, 

我們使用“get”用得很多很多。你需要會(huì)使用get這個(gè)詞。這很重要，也很常見(jiàn)。我們一直在用它，很多時(shí)候當(dāng)去某地，到達(dá)某地的意思，很多時(shí)候是得到的意思，

but also, interesting very often for a reflexive to to become.

To get married, to become married, to get dressed, to become dressed.

去結(jié)婚，去成為已婚的，去穿衣，去被穿好衣的。

To understand something, like, ah, I don't get it. Do you get it?
